Behaviour consults are currently unavailable. Emergency advice may be available by phone or remote consultation in some circumstances. For all other behaviour assistance please contact your local behaviourist at the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors.
Any owner can experience problems with their pet's behaviour.
BestBehaviour is here to help with all types of behaviour problems.
Behaviour consultations allow you to understand the causes of your pet's behaviour
& work towards long term sustainable solutions.
All sessions are confidential and non-judgemental.
Behaviour consultations take place within the comfort of your own home where your pets natural behaviours can be observed. Your initial consultation consists of an in-depth exploration of your pet's previous history and behaviour followed by a discussion of required training techniques and key behaviour concepts. This is then followed by any relevant practical training exercises to get you and your dog started on your new training plan.
After your initial consult you will be provided with a summary of all points discussed plus an analysis of your pet's behaviour. You will also be provided with an individual management and training plan specifically tailored to both you and your pet's needs. This includes comprehensive guides for owners on behaviour concepts including analysis of key body language signals.
The follow up consult will assess your progress, trouble shoot any issues and review the practical training exercises until you are confident carrying out the training plan. Subsequent follow up is available via phone and email for 6 weeks to continue supporting you and your pet throughout the process of behaviour change.
Typically an initial behaviour consultation will last 2-3 hours and follow up consultations 2 hours. In order to make the most of the consultation it is recommended that all those who live in the same household or have regular interactions with your pet are present during both sessions. This is to ensure that everyone involved is using the same training and management techniques in order to ensure success.
