Will I get a refund if classes are rescheduled due to Covid-19? No refunds are given if classes are rescheduled due to any attendees experiencing covid symptoms or at the request of track and trace officials. Please be aware that if we are asked to close for 2 weeks that your course may then be extended for two weeks past the original end date. Please bear this in mind when booking a course. If you can not attend a rescheduled course date an online class will be offered as an alternative.
Will I be refunded if all classes are stopped completely due to a local lockdown? Refunds will be given if classes have to be stopped for an indefinite period. Owners whose classes are cancelled will be given the first priority to rebook when classes resume.
My puppy missed out on socilisation due to Covid-19 and now we are struggling with their behaviour. Will classes help? Classes are not always suitable for young dogs that have developed issues around people and/or other dogs. In some circumstances this could make the problem worse. However puppies can sometimes be accommodated on courses in these circumstances and each puppy/young dog will be considered on an individual basis. It may be beneficial to attend a 1-2-1 session prior to joining a course. Please get in contact for more information.
How many spaces are there in your classes? & How many people will be in the class? Class spaces are now limited to 4 sets of owners and their puppies. There is a maximum limit of two attendees per puppy. This means there will be a maximum of 8 people attending the class plus 1 trainer and an assistant. Windows will be open during class to allow for ventilation.
Why must children now be aged 10 or over? Younger children find social distancing more difficult particularly when there are other cute puppies in the class! Therefore for the time being the age limit to attend classes has been raised to 10 years of age.
Can I bring someone from outside my house hold to the class? Yes you can bring one other person alongside yourself to attend the class. Each set of handlers will have their own training area to ensure social distancing.
I am in a vulnerable group am I OK to attend classes? At this time it is recommended for your own safety that you do not attend classes if you are within a vulnerable group. However you can attend at your own risk if you sign a disclaimer. If you are concerned about attending classes please get in contact about online coaching services which can be offered as a safe alternative.
Do I have to wear a mask during the class? You will be asked to wear a mask if you are able to during the class. You do not have to wear a mask if you have an invisible disability that prevents you from doing so. You must wear a mask if at all possible however when collecting you puppy from puppy play. Your trainer will also be wearing a mask throughout the class. It would be beneficial to get your puppy used to seeing you wearing a mask before attending class.
How will training classes be different from before? While many aspects of classes will remain the same there will be some changes. At the start of class you will be collected from your car and brought into the hall to your training area. Each training area will be marked out using tape and cones. You will be provided with your own set of hand sanitiser, dog wipes and extra dog training treats. At the end of each session you will be escorted one at a time back to your car. There may be brief moments in class when you are within 2 meters of another person i.e. if your puppy is borrowed for a demo or when collecting your puppy from puppy play. If this causes you concern please consider whether you wish to attend a course. Online courses will be available soon please get in contact for more information.
Will my puppy still get to play with other puppies? Yes there will be a couple of brief play sessions at the end of class whenever possible. You must wear a mask if you can when collecting puppies from puppy play.
Will I still be able to use the toilet during class? Yes toilet facilities will be available during class. Please ask if you need to leave the room for any reason and I will open the door for you.
Will I still be able to take my puppy outside if they need a wee? Yes you will still be able to take your puppy outside if they need the toilet during class although indoor accidents are not a problem. Please ask if you need to leave the room for any reason and I will open the door for you.
